The Further Adventures of the Wilson Women
This is the final story in this series. It is me channeling Hemingway. Unlike most authors of spook stories I am actually IN the business. So I thought you might be interested in what it is really like. If you didn't sleep through American Lit, you will recognize that Papa's story ends at the epilog. Me? - I'm a hopeless romantic and indisputably NOT Hemingway. So I gave my characters their happy ending. BTW the Tybee Island bomb is real - and it is still out there - so sleep well. DT
Part of Women Power
He was a nerd, laid back and cerebral. She was a player, passionate and committed. It was the perfect team of opposites. Still, power corrupts and difference can cause misunderstanding. My tale is set in the fetid jungle of DC politics; where the weak are killed and eaten. It tells the story of two people who have always had each other's back, until one flies too close to the sun. Since this is part of the Welcome to the New World Event, I'll leave it to you to guess who.
I’ve noticed that my Hilley stories attract some interest, and I have a final one to adapt. This is Hilley’s coming of age story. So, it doesn’t have the convoluted plotting of the later stories. Instead, it focuses on her development. She isn’t the ass-kicker you find later. In fact, she has all the insecurities that any late teen girl would have. This is novel length. So, I will post chapters every week. I hope you enjoy this as much as I did writing it.
This is the origin story for the Hilley series. In this one, our girl is recruited by a mysterious organization to prevent a major industrial espionage incident. To do that, she and her trusty side-kick Mel journey all the way to Melbourne Australia where they thwart a multi-million dollar plot involving a very odd cast of characters. The girls have a number of "stimulating" experiences along the way and you will meet most of the characters who have appeared in the other stories.
It was Beauty and the Beast. He was a bartender and she was a Marquis's daughter. He saved her friend. She helped him find his better self. This is set in occupied France during World War Two. The Seine has a part to play. But the real story centers on the way two unlikely people find each other and build a life together.
The Further Adventures of the Wilson Women
You wanted to see me smite the two sinners from A Sea Change. So here it is. I had to make some changes to ensure continuity so the the initial story is the first section of this. If you REALLY don't want to read it again, just skip to the section titled, "In the Land of Nod. Also, you may think that the black-hat stuff is exaggerated. But let me assure you that everything I have written, is entirely possible, happens every day and could happen to you tomorrow. Sleep well. DT
Jacob lives in his head. So does Kate. They are both shy and self-conscious. But, they have each other. Then Kate goes off to college and Jacob is alone. The next forty years features times of joy and pain. But Jacob keeps stubbornly marching. On his journey, he meets an exceptional person who turns him into the man he is today. I like hardboiled film noir, especially Raymond Chandler. Noir means "dark "and this piece is certainly that. I am exploring why people do self-destructive things. None of the characters are good. But none are bad either; with one glaring exception. I hope you enjoy - DT
Josette is uncannily beautiful. She also does wet work for the Mossad as the Needle. Peter is exceptionally handsome and chivalrous. He is also so deadly that he is known as the Archangel in the shadowy world of espionage. Peter and Josette are far too perfect to experience conventional love until they rediscover each other during the Six-Day War. This completes the story of brave little Josette from "Don't Sit Under The Apple Tree" and noble Peter from "American Patrol." I hope you enjoy.
They were a team of opposites. She was white-hot, passionate. He was laid back. He was an iconoclast. She was a sultry preppie beauty with an attitude. Yet, they completed each other. This story is different for me. It is a simple character-driven tale about two people who genuinely love each other and how they deal with one partner’s infidelity. I like twists. But his time, I stuck with the simple question of how a couple who belong together can possibly reconcile a betrayal. Read on and see.
