A quirky science fiction story with no high drama but a strong theme that you can probably guess from the title. The title is borrowed from an unfinished work by Phillip K. Dick though it borrows nothing else from it. Our narrator is an urban preservationist a few hundred years in the future who lives in a nearly empty New York City but one day gets a new neighbor.

A simple little story I did as a writing exercise but I enjoyed it enough to finish it. It is a suspense story with a possible supernatural element though it is left to the reader to decide that.

A young half-orc decides to pay back an old debt before he leaves town since there is nothing to stay for.
