"I Will See You When I See You" is what this ex-Marine would say to the guys on patrol when they left to go and do some nasty work that perhaps they might not return from. Like most Marines, he valued loyalty and honesty and lived up to those to the best of his ability. Where this became a problem was when he had given his commitment of loyalty and honesty to a partner that is what he expected back.
Well, in this case, his cheating wife found out the hard way just how much he lived up to his motto when his wife walked out the door with her boss leaving him with the boss's wife to look after themselves. When he said to her at the door, "I Will See You When I See You", he meant it.
After that, he started a whole new life and that is what this story is about.
This is definitely one of those tales where the good guy wins and he wins by his loyalty, goodness and his honesty. But he also wins by being able to rely on his former patrol mates who definitely had his back.
I very much enjoyed this story and I simply cannot believe that the score is below 8 when it deserves a much higher rating in my humble opinion. I wish I could ask the idiots that gave it a low rating just why? What was so wrong with it that you had to rate it down because I did not see anything wrong with that.
So let us go through my evaluation of the tale:
1.– Plot; I found it a good running plot, is very little where I thought it might have needed tightening all better explanation.
2.– Technical; there were very few places where I thought this needed a touchup. Grammatically I thought it was fine. I will give this a 9 too.
3.– Appeal; call me what you will but I enjoy a story where the good guy wins out, gets the girl of his dreams and makes a whole new life for himself and others. I do not think there is anything wrong with having a positive tale but that is my POV.
Let us give this one a 10.
I certainly liked this and I would like to see more in a similar vein which the author tells me is going to happen soon:
"The next story in the series is "Expect Me When You See Me" and
there is a current story being posted every Sunday morning called
"The Fortune Of The O'Dells"."
