Reluctant_Sir has written a number of good stories here on SOL - "Dark Days - Darkest Before the Dawn", "Magic 101", and "Seraph", for example.
I'm surprised his latest story, "He Said, She Said", doesn't have higher ratings.
I was thrown off a bit at the beginning but got more and more interested as the story developed. And it develops in some very surprising ways!
The protagonist has changed into a dual sexuality person, for lack of a better term, who is sometimes male, and overnight becomes female, and vice-versa. The development of the main character him/her/self is really interesting - going through counseling, finding new skills and strengths, and more importantly, finding that they are able to function again after going though extremely traumatic experiences. The side characters who later join the story are interesting as well.
I enjoyed this tale tremendously, and hope you will, too.
