"Mud & Magic" chapter VII is coming along nicely. 19k words in and my gut says I'm a third of the way there. The setup for this chapter's big adventure is complete and Rhys plus a few of his friends are about to tear up the elven woods.

I have two big sex scenes planned this time and none involves Galdor. :) Also, I'm still taking bets for the big boss fight at the end of the chapter. Rhys vs. Faedal, one round, first blood. Will be fun.

I'm absolutely overwhelmed with the goodwill and enthusiastic reactions to most of my work here on SOL, especially the comments in regards to "Mud and Magic." I'm utterly humbled by the passionate comments. Never thought I'd elicit this kind of response with my weird grim fantasy sex thing.

Now, here's the thing. All my "Western Continent" stories earn pretty high marks and a decent amount of feedback save for two. "Dagger and Crystal" and "Tear's Desire". The latter in particular has the lowest score of all my stories here and no one has yet bothered to tell me what they did not like.

Sure, I'm aware that futanari is a very niche kink, but the rest of the story can't be THAT bad, now can it?

And "Dagger and Crystal", despite garnering about the kind of score I've come to expect from a story with a male getting his ass torn apart by a vengeful demon, has not received a single comment. No complaints about the cliff hanger, no complaints about making my protagonist a demon's bitch, not even a little praise for tying all the major plot threads of the previous stories together. I don't understand it and would be delighted if any of you guys could shed a bit of light on the situation.

Alright, I just put M&MVI into the queue. Just so everyone is on the same page - this will probably be the darkest chapter in an already pretty grim story. And apart from a few fleeting moments of warmth, there will be no sex either. Chapter VII will be a slightly easier read, but not by much. I don't do happy-fluffy smiley stuff. :)

Today I'm happy to offer you "Dagger and Crystal" which answers a lot of questions in regard to Shilana's offspring.

I'd like this opportunity to address something which I have been hearing a lot of lately, namely the issue of Transphobia.

Declan, the main character in "Dagger and Crystal", has an unfortunate encounter with a demoness which involves her taking his ass rather brutally. This is NOT an attack on TG people. Xandrith is a demon, not a person. And she is in no way a metaphor for TG people or futanari. She is simply and plainly an evil being doing evil things, no political or moral message attached. If there is one message I want to get across then it's this: Never stop fighting. Never let anyone get you down. My main character's quest to overcome his defeat, his humiliation is the main takeaway from this story.

I would be a pretty big hypocrite portraying futa as hot, desirable people in "Rembrandt Legacy" and "Tear's Desire" and vicious, ass-raping monsters in "Dagger and Crystal". Just sayin'.

There's "The Temptation of Gheeran", explaining what a certain mutilated assassin went through after he parted ways with Shilana and the others. Political intrigue and blindness are a weird mix.

One of my favorite stories, in no small part due to the ability to pour some of my real-life frustrations in regards to blindness into it. It's in no way autobiographic or anything, but it was a nice place to insert some real-life experiences into the fantasy-smut thing I do.

The other, "Tear's Desire", is my attempt at a short stroke piece. And to put the verdict front and center - I failed miserably. Instead of a quick, steamy sex romp it became a rather important piece, both in terms of character work and plot development. And I'm probably the only guy getting hard at the idea of Tear going futa on her beloved Arach. :)
